Objective 4- show my learning through analysis.
What and why?
At matrix logistics I work as an order picker where every minute as I pick orders I am tracked and a report is printed on how quickly and efficiently I picked the products and loaded them on to the skid and wrapped them and put them in the correct lanes and then get another order and continue the process. A daily percentage is cumulative as the shift goes on, matrix follows the practice of passive MBE in that one year went by and I was never congratulated or praised for success or growth or improvement, the only reason why management would give me any attention would be to ask me about a gap in my assignments and or if my percentage was low which is below 70%, the result was that I felt really low, like quitting that I was a slave being driven to go faster and faster while they sat behind the computer desk, I wish they would pick orders like me and see what I go through, there was one time when I saw the new team leader helping an associate put boxes on his skid which I really admired becuase he was making a sacrifice and showing care which are traits of a transformative leader, however when the new team leader came in he threatened to use active MBE in that you would be ticketed each time if you do not obey a safety rule of stopping at the stop sign points. I thought, why don't they instead see what percentage I am at when they call me in and then ask me what rewards i would like, somethingas simple as a gift card to shoppers which is their client woukd be sufficient to motivate me or to. Have some chocolate or food products that they have on the floor to take home would have been phenomenal. or to praise me of my progress or announce my growth at the weekly meetings or have a Live scoreboard of my percentage that I can see instantly would be motivating.
